The BC1000XL can now be equipped with either a clean-burning 49-hp Cat C2.2L Tier 4a or 85-hp Cummins B3.3 Tier 3 turbo diesel engine. Both engine options offer the power needed to efficiently process material up to 12" in diameter, while the 25-gallon fuel tank cuts the time spent refueling and increases time spent on the jobsite.The Vermeer BC1000XL brush chipper reportedly offers the most horsepower in its class and can process material up to 12" in diameter. The chipper features an 85-hp Tier 3 diesel engine, the patented SmartFeed system, a clutchless PTO and a large 12" x 17" infeed opening. Feed control direction is controlled by a four-position feed control bar, which can also be used to stop the infeed. A specially designed hood helps limit engine noise while the standard rubber torsional axle provides smooth towing. A gear-driven discharge chute provides an infinite number of chute positions while the dual-edged cutter knives offer reduced operating expense.
